Every bad side has a good side.

This year was a bless to me. I am 12 this year and i had to go through an important test which is known as UPSR (Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah). The test determines where i would be enrolled into for middle school. I applied for a few boarding schools, hoping atleast i would be able to be in one of the best/known school.I applied for

1. MRSM KUANTAN 
2. ASRAMA SEMAI BAKTI KUALA LUMPUR
3. COLLEGE TUNKU KURSHIAH
4. KOLEJ YAYASAN SAAD

Days passed and i got my results, It wasnt that dissapointing however i was sad the fact i didnt get an A for Science and my own language Bahasa Melayu Pemahaman. I had low hopes that i was going to be accepted to go to any boarding schools.

Yet, in November i got a mail from Kolej Yayasan Saad Melaka, that i was accepted to go to their Residence Based Selection. I was picked as the top 400. I had a stay there for 4 days and 3 nights.

It was fun.

Shortly after i got back from RBS, i checked two of my boarding schools website t check if i got anything. I was shocked to see that i was accepted to go through MRSM KUANTAN and Asrama Semai Bakti's test.

What made me shock the most was that, MRSM KUANTAN'S test was a day before Asrama Semai Bakti's test. My parents and i had to drive for Kota Damansara to MRSM KUANTAN and the next day we had a 7-hour drive from MRSM KUANTAN all the way to Johor Bahru.

We went through a few hardships but luckily we made it and the test wasn't that hard since i went through a few interviews before.

Sadly, i wasnt accepted to enroll in one of the best schools in Malaysia which was TKC, my main aim. Good news i was accepted to SMKDU and Asrama Semai Bakti Kuala Lumpur.yay

MRSM's result will come later around three months after the test/interview. So i will enroll to Asrama Semai Bakti first and if i get an email from MRSM then i will move to MRSM.

I also asked for another asrama which was Sekolah Meengah Sains Seri Puteri, i will getthe results at the end of january 2017. So i am still looking forward to it.

I forgot to mention, I was also accepted to KYSM. However KYSM isnt a government boarding school or a local boarding school so the price was very expensive. It costed RM40K a year and my mother and father couldnt afford it.

But i appreciate what they have done for me and i am okay with being anywhere.

My experience leads me to know that everytime something bad happens, a good side about it comes out. So no matter what you still have to have a small hope in you.

Jade is a 15 year old student from Melbourne, Australia who loves being active and outdoors.

Jade had climbed Mt Kosciuszko and completed her first triathlon season by age 6. By age 12, Jade had conquered the Mt Everest Base Camp Trek and was inspired by the courage of two women she befriended on that trip – one that was aiming to reach the summit and who had previously skied to the South Pole solo and the other who had been the first woman to summit Everest without oxygen.

This inspiration has led Jade to undertake her own quest… Jade’s Polar Quest.

Jade’s Polar Quest will see her cover almost 2,000 km over three expeditions (totalling almost four months on ice) on skis, dragging a sled of around her own body weight in some of the most extreme and beautiful environments on the planet.

• EXPEDITION 3 :  SOUTH POLE - December 2017

In undertaking her Polar Quest, Jade is also seeking to inspire and empower young women around the world to be more active and chase their dreams.

It is truly an inspiring achievement of a young girl against the cold harsh extreme weather condition in North pole. Battling loneliness, wilderness and a mountain of physical and mental challenges. I can only hope to emulate her spirit, confidence and perseverance. Go Girl power!
